Welcome to my race schedules and running wishlists!
I think the best way to achieve goals is to make myself accountable to as many people as possible. It’s easy to skip one run if the only person I disappoint is myself (and lets face it, I can get over my disappointment pretty quickly if I’m curled up on the sofa with a glass of wine and my collection of Tom Hardy DVDs), but I don’t want to have to admit to all my friends that I couldn’t be bothered to go for a run.
My Plans change along with my ultimate goals. I started this blog when I was training for my first marathon, so Dashing Plans 2012 was a pretty intense schedule of races designed to prepare me for running the Brighton Marathon. Once I had successfully checked “run a marathon” off my bucket list, I decided that I didn’t want to do it again until I finish faster and stronger. Dashing Plans 2013 is all about shorter races, I haven’t turned my back on running but I’ve cut my distances down to focus on building a good fitness base for my next marathon.
